How much does it cost to use?
It's free for you. We don't charge you to request quotes or to choose a store. The check-cashing fee is charged by the store you choose, according to its offer.
Do you cash checks?
No. We are a quote-comparison service. We don't cash checks, hold money, or decide whether a store accepts your check. That decision, and the final fee, belong to the store after it verifies your check and identification.
What information do stores see?
The stores you select see your ZIP code, city, check types, approximate amounts and, for a business, the business name and type. Your name, phone and email go only to the store you choose after comparing offers.
Are offers guaranteed?
No. Each offer says whether it is preliminary or confirmed by the store, its conditions and its expiration date. Even a confirmed offer depends on the store verifying your check and identification.
What is the most a store can charge in Florida?
Florida law (s. 560.309(8), F.S.) caps check-cashing fees at the greater of 5% of the face amount or $5. For state public assistance or federal Social Security payments the cap is the greater of 3% or $5. For personal checks and money orders, the greater of 10% or $5. The direct cost of verification, up to $5, may be charged separately. We don't accept offers above these maximums.
How are stores verified?
We review every application before approving a store. We show "License verified" only after we have checked the store's money services business license with the Florida Office of Financial Regulation ourselves.
Do I need an account?
No. You can request quotes without an account; we give you a private link to see your offers. If you create an account with the same email and verify it, your requests appear there.
How do I stop stores from contacting me?
On your request page, use "Withdraw my request". Stores immediately stop seeing your contact details. You can also write to us from the contact page.
Which areas do you serve?
For now we serve Florida ZIP codes. Whether you get offers depends on the participating stores that serve your ZIP code.
